There is no greater comfort than feeling the connection of touch from the ones we love. In my final year design project, I intertwined my Russian and Irish heritage throughout my designs, both cultures are very important to me as I was adopted from Russia by my Irish parents at the age of four. My jewellery pieces portray photo-etched images of blind drawings and roller embossed prints that consist of hands from my family and myself. My project looks at how powerful the connection of touch is, regardless of the language barriers one may face. Each jewellery piece is made of sterling silver, roller embossed anodised aluminium and coloured perspex. These jewellery pieces encapsulate Irish and Russian cultures, through the use of vibrant green and red colours.
