'Threads' is a project about intergenerational relationships and connections. It explores the concept of female connections on a familial, historical, and biological level, with the threads that tie us all together, through the medium of graphic design. The research was conducted with the intention of creating tangible, textile-based outcomes.
I designed a contemporary garment of symbols, quotes, and colours that allows the wearer to carry the knowledge collected about my grandmothers, who were a seamstress and a weaver. By using their machinery, I was able to get to know them on a deeper and more meaningful level.
'Opulence and Disobedience' is an activist pack and publication, inspired by the societal progress made by women in history, who used 'craftivism' to evoke change.
Oxytocin is the hormone released by women during social bonding, reproduction, and childbirth. ‘Bonds’ is an experiential soft materials installation and poster series that aims to cultivate relationships and the production of oxytocin, and highlight responses to the experience.
