This project aims to enhance the identity of my home village of Kilworth in County Cork by developing compelling and accessible ways to explore local stories.

'Parish Sans' is a display typeface designed to embody the rustic character of the village while applying a modern aesthetic. The potential applications of this typeface extend to street signage, heritage plaques, event posters, shopfronts, community newsletters, and any other printed or written paraphernalia around Kilworth. I also created a model signpost for my village to demonstrate the functionality of Parish Sans within a material context.

'Folk Lore' is a poster series which celebrates several prominent figures throughout the history of Kilworth using archetypal iconography. These posters will be displayed as plaques throughout the village for locals and visitors to learn more about Kilworth's past.

‘Petrichor’ is a publication that seeks to capture the essence of my village through ambient monochrome photography.
