'Flow' is a collection of constructed textiles which encapsulate the tranquillity of nature, particularly the unique equanimity found in waterfalls. This equanimity is embodied within the collection and translated through sensory minimalism, with the aim of bringing serenity to interior spaces.
I’m inspired by my personal experiences with waterfalls which bring an overall sense of peacefulness. Visual research stimulated the evolution of my design ideas and a series of testing enabled me to accurately interpret the movement of water and these sensory experiences.
My collection consists of furnishing fabrics with a tranquil aesthetic that is magnified by way of a neutral colour palette. The undisturbed peacefulness of nature and the flow of water was furthermore encapsulated within my collection through the utilisation of natural fibres, such as silks and cottons. In addition, polyesters enabled me to visually represent the continuous nature of water flow given its reflective and transparent qualities.
