“I wouldn’t call myself an activist or consider myself a die-hard...I wouldn’t scream 'go vegan' at passersby, or repeat the quote about slaughterhouses having glass walls like it’s my mantra. I....also can’t stand vegan advertisements.”

My project is a diverse, self-reflective series of work which all serve to tell my story as a vegetarian and an animal lover. Animals are incredibly important to me, but I understand that this is not the case for everyone. I strive to be non-judgemental and harness a 'you do you' attitude. However, this often leads to me being extremely hard on myself and my own life choices.

Through a booklet, a short video and a series of clay pots, my aim is to communicate this, while also offering a humorous, yet thought-provoking approach to a regularly misrepresented subject.

Before you go, feel free to stop by the guilt mountains. It gets a bit lonely sometimes.

One of the most important images of the booklet - 'Vegan Dog'. The text that goes along with this illustration explains that the only way I would be able to live without guilt would be to live in the middle of the mountains with my vegan dog and eat only home-grown vegetables

"I Just Don't Get It" is a vlog-style short video inspired by spoken-word poetry and my favourite creators on Youtube. It features a voice-over of me talking about why I'm a vegetarian, not a vegan.
