“Trá Ghlan” means “clean beach” in Gaelic.
My project was motivated by the rising issue that surrounds us all, ocean plastic.

I have grown up by the sea in Co. Mayo and have seen a dramatic increase of plastic material washing in along each beach in my community. I felt a responsibility to communicate this to a wider audience and to people who may not see this crisis at their doorstep every day.

My main goal is to create change and discussion around this topic. I want to generate awareness, conversation, and movement among people surrounding such immense global issues in the hope that we as humans can change our habits of buying single-use plastics and, in turn, form a safer world for generations of life on this planet to come.
