I’m a dyke who is as Hard as Nails. Joy, frustration, romanticisation and a deep love of queerness fuels my work. I believe that queer identities rely on queer visibility, and to see a range of identities in public space is how we continue to construct these identities.

My work involves processes of spontaneity. Using free-flow painting, writing, and video work, I explore the multi-faceted expressions and cultural narratives of the queer and lesbian existence, prioritising challenging the heteronormative idea of ‘toughness’. The writing comes first, day-dreaming after. The work for this project is spontaneous, autobiographical and aims to prioritise the light-hearted pleasures and hardships of queer life.
