Niamh Potter's practice revolves around feminism. She is inspired by mythology and aims to highlight how, throughout history, women have been silenced by patriarchal culture.

Within today's society, this silencing still exists, and often objects act as the main silencer. Objects used by men against women. 'Silence' is a sculpture that involves different types of contemporary silencers.

Each one of these objects is used to silence different women every single day. From experiencing physical violence, to being sexualised and harassed, these objects highlight how the issues women face are still prevalent today. These are not stories with made-up motives, but issues that women still carry on their shoulders.

A real portrait of what a keyboard warriors keyboard may suggest, or at least what you would assume as a result of their online activity.
