This collection focuses on the idea of “thin places”, a mystical spirit woven into the fabric of nature where the veil between our world and the other world is at its thinnest. There is a strong link between the power of these places and the energy of the divine feminine. Encompassing intuition, interconnectedness and receptivity, the energies of divine femininity are almost manifested into these physical places. ‬‪This collection explores the idea of feminine energy by looking at the archetypes of the Celtic triple goddess: the maiden, the mother and the crone.‬ It uses my mother, grandmother and great grandmother as reference points under the guise of this trinity. Fabrics such as waxed cotton and wool are used in juxtaposition with silk, organdie and mohair yarn to distinguish each woman’s defining characteristics. Textile processes such as tufting, drawing with silicone and strapping were used to convey the collection's whimsical narrative.
