The superficiality of ever-changing societal attitudes to body image and beauty standards belies a perpetual state of neurosis, anxiety and self-doubt.

My work visually represents this sense of pervasive anxiety. Through a variety of materials, media, processes and forms, the body is presented as a living container, a repository and a vessel to store, collect and momentarily hold the ephemeral that inevitably will escape, leave, or be rejected by the body.

'Body-vessel' explores the dual action of inhaling and exhaling, of incoming and outgoing, and reflects the inboxes and outboxes of social media. This duality not only reflects bodily functions but also represents how we understand and make sense of the world around us. We consume both sustenance and information
before transforming these into outward expressions of our thoughts, feelings and experiences, which allows me to question the notion of 'Metamorphosis through
Consumption'.
