The work gives consideration to the day-to-day struggles of being a woman in the agricultural industry. With farming comes shitty work. Shitty attitudes, comments and a range of products for women; and being viewed as less of a woman because of the shitty smell on them.
Despite the shittiness, there are aspects of farming that make it worthwhile to do as a woman.
It features the unnoticed work done by women on the farm that keeps it running, as well as the dedication women have to their farming work because they are passionate about it.
My work combines images, objects and text to develop the topic. All these elements record the monotonous movements women may do on the farm and in the house and the shit that comes with it. The text includes joyous and hurtful experiences and quotes from women in agriculture scattered throughout the work.
