I’ve developed a virtual world that responds to a lack of reception or presence of Irish vernacular architecture within virtual spaces. Meanwhile offline, or IRL (In Real Life), there is an unprecedented museumification of Dublin City ongoing. Profitable misrepresentations of Irish culture are globally abundant, meanwhile the 'Auld Dub' suffocates, unable to preserve their spirit, crushed under the global forces of cultural imperialism. Big Tech is instrumental in raising the cost of living within this city.

The game was informed by the JRPG (Japanese Role Playing Game) format. These games often depict euro-centric fantasy worlds, despite being primarily produced and distributed within North America and Japan. My inclination was to create a realistic, home-grown portrayal of the European city. It features local architectural references, as well as mythical characters, re-imagined within a top-down Euro-RPG city.

In accompaniment with the software based work, are sculpted and painted skeletal and floral remnants, following the caricatural notion or feeling of the work. I was thinking about decay and revitalisation, and mocking the lack thereof under our failed post-global social eco-system.
