Taking inspiration from awe-inspiring documentary photographers like Martin Parr and Doug DuBois, my aim in this series is to capture a specific moment in time. Looking at different locations, and different groups of people, I capture these ‘characters’, who are so indicative of their time and place, moving through different spaces, while studying their fashion, their posture, and their body language. The characters captured in my paintings form the fabric and background of our everyday lives, and the particular moment they were captured in.

Placing these characters in the White Cube was important, as it should encourage the viewer to view each character individually, and as a specific moment in time.
