'Shared Stories' is a jewellery speculative design concept of how to represent – in jewellery and body objects – physical interpretations of emotional stories shared with me. Addressing the subject of mental health and welcoming stories, the jewellery is communicating individual's shared and intimate stories and experiences. The exhibition encourages the public to touch, feel and wear the jewellery on display; to endure the weight and feel of the chains, and hear the sounds of the jewellery as you move with it.

Mental health issues are exacerbated by stigma and discrimination which can come from a variety of sources like society, family members and social media. An intergenerational shunning of emotions has led to inhibitions with expressing our true feelings for fear of ridicule. Can you imagine a world that openly excepts different mental health problems? 'Shared Stories' is trying to open dialogues with the issues of stigma and intolerance sufferers experience.
