It is seldom we see the weeping, withered mother smother in a tumbling avalanche of washing. Yet, behind closed doors there is a broken woman, who has given up her stretched body to care, clean, cook, wash, worry, raise, dress and impress. This list can go on for a mile, the shattered soul of a mother forging a smile. Ground hog day, every day, “you chose to have a child” I hear them say.

Motherhood can be hard, lonely and relentless. My art showcases the dark hidden realities and misconceptions of motherhood. My art is a voice for all mothers to break the silent societal stigma of feeling like you can’t complain, get tired or cry. Admitting you are struggling does not make you a bad mother and just because you said “I’m finding it hard”, it should not be taken for regret.
