This project explores the importance of reading and literacy throughout all stages of life, placing emphasis on the importance of reading at a young age.

The focus of this project was to explore the different ways of encouraging literacy and highlighting the impact it has on people's lives.

This exploration is brought to life through a combination of illustration, graphic design, letterpress, textiles and community interaction. Each outcome takes a different approach to reviving the art of reading: 'The Relationship between the Reader and the book'; 'Promoting Literacy and Reading'; and 'The Power of Children's Imagination and Creativity'.

The objective of this project is to celebrate the art of reading and to encourage literacy from a young age. It is intended to encourage both children and adults to make reading a priority in their lives, and to place emphasis on the power of children's imaginations, which is explored through reading.

"Imagination is more powerful than knowledge, knowledge is limited. But imagination encircles the world".
