My research throughout the year has led me to understand that there isn’t a right way to communicate the climate crisis. It’s a topic where individuals are aware of all the information and statistics, but they lack the interest and hope that their actions can make a difference. My book titled 'Beyond Words' strives to foster a relationship between them and the environment, encouraging thought and forging strong bonds that remind us of our ties to nature. The use of black and white images and 'ecopoetry' allows the viewer to reflect deeply about the representation of the image which aims to evoke memories and senses. The audience is invited to savour their hopes and reflection on the attached postcards to acknowledge future hope for action and understand their desired outcome. The entire book was printed on biodegradable paper created from 40 percent recycled materials with self-generated electricity and plant-based inks.
