My practice reflects upon the avatars of science and technology and their impact on the ecosystem and our lives. I explore the interface between technology and the natural world in an experimental way and through the use of diverse materials such as digital photography, collage, prints, and recycled materials, while incorporating various textures, surfaces, and organic elements. 'Synthetic' is a new body of work that examines how metamorphosed and mutated living and non-living forms are emerging in current, transhumanist times. It consists of a series of paintings and installations, where plastic and fabric act as the canvas to work upon. I aim to allow the materials to create their visual narrative and talk for themselves. Although the pieces are made in subtle pastel colours, they comment upon some dark truths of the technological world of today. 'Synthetic' might lead us to question, what do progress and evolution REALLY mean?
