Humanity has never had a culture without religion, which points to spirituality being an intrinsic human need. We are constantly changing and evolving, and spirituality should change and evolve with us.

Using illustration, graphic design and photography, this project takes inspiration from different aspects of religion and develops them to reflect modern spiritual beliefs.

Religions have always had special spaces that inspired awe and peace, modern spirituality finds this in beautiful spaces in nature – this is captured in my photobook. Sacred objects were traditionally used to aid prayer, my modern version is a jigsaw that aids mindfulness, patience and focus. My version of a sacred text, illustrates shared ideas between different religions, philosophies and poetry, and suggests that if they all arrived at the same conclusions, these must be fundamental truths.

I hope this project will encourage people to consider spirituality as a way to improve their lives and the world.
