My work depicts the staging and narrative of a murder captured in student accommodation, apartment B204 F. The apartment accommodates seven individuals with a shared kitchen space. Within bedroom F, Colm O’ Leary is secretly sharing the space with his girlfriend Claire. However, not all is love and roses for the couple. Thorns begin to enclose the suffocating space of the bedroom in the form of a sinister presence that haunts and torments Claire.
Through rose-tinted glasses, the film showcases 'teenage dream moments' of the couple that are then translated into paint. It concludes with a green, cinematic piece that withholds the first scene of suspense and pain. Inside this space, shots of everyday duties are filmed through the lens of a spy camera held within Claire’s mouth, that are intercut with footage of a poltergeist.
It is a tragic love story that strikes the heart, while simultaneously chillings one's spine with the unknown.
